The date definitely coincides with pre-existing claims that following the release of iPhone 7 last month, another slew of refreshed products will be introduced this October. With the iPhone 7 coming with no headphone jack, Apple may dedicate the rest of its 2016 releases to this risky leap. It sounded a bit off during premature leaks.

The news reports on the MacBook Air 2016 are replete with rumors that the "Air" brand is on the way out to be replaced with the Pro. This new and innovative feature is supposedly meant to replace the old models' function keys.

Apple has recently launched macOS Sierra and it has stirred rumors that the company is upgrading its operating system to fit the Macbook Pro 2016 that will be released. But now, it appears that MacBook Air will not only return but will make an explosive comeback with all the new features and rumored additions, said recent reports. There may be a gold edition for the 12-inch model, and it is going to be thinner and lighter. There are also rumors claiming that Apple is bringing Touch ID to the thicker MacBook. The 15-inch model will reportedly feature an 8 GB of RAM, the Kaby Lake processor, along with the Apple Pen. These reports were eventually contradicted by some information released by other media sites, saying, that the Macbook Pro 2016 will be released with Skylake within October 2016. Instead of holding it on October 27, reports claim that the company has now moved it to October 25 as it, allegedly, will have an event on the original date. With that in mind, it's safe to assume that Apple won't release another version of the MacBook Air this year, leaving their March 2017 event as the next possible opportunity to do so.

However, the fact that the device is said to be powered by Intel Skylake is also a big clue.

The Apple MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to sport Intel processors and optional heavy-duty AMD Polaris graphics processor. There are rumors of a new hinge design, according to Tech Rader: "Metal injection-molded hinges inspired by Microsoft's Surface Pro line purportedly began shipment back in June for the 13-inch MacBook Pro".

While it is interesting to know that MacBook Air will survive another update before it is discontinued, but the enthusiasts should take the news with a grain of salt, until confirmed by Apple.
