Trump again won't admit Obama was born in the US

After a Washington Post story said that Donald Trump remained unwilling to say that President Barack Obama was born in the United States, the GOP nominee's campaign released a statement noting otherwise.

His running mater, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, said earlier this month that he accepts the fact that President Obama was born in Hawaii.

"I'll answer that question at the right time", Trump said during an interview in Ohio. "Having successfully obtained President Obama's birth certificate when others could not, Mr Trump believes that President Obama was born in the United States", he said. "This is who he is", she said. And she says she hopes to tell Republicans that "the party of Lincoln is better than Donald Trump". "I want to focus on other things".

The Republican presidential candidate continued, "I don't talk about it anymore". "The reason I don't is because then everyone is going to be talking about it as opposed to jobs, the military, the vets, security".

Trump, who was one of the leaders of the "birther" movement that questioned Obama's U.S. citizenship, made the backflip in a campaign statement on Thursday.

Pointing to the benefits of a diverse nation, Clinton seized upon Trump's unwillingness to say Obama was born in the United States and his past support for the "birther" movement questioning Obama's citizenship. Her remarks came after similar comments from Trump surrogate and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who said that Trump now believes Obama was born in the United States.

Miller says Trump ended the "ugly incident" by compelling Obama to release his birth certificate. The Democratic presidential nominee is speaking at a gala of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute.

"He's tried to reset himself and his campaign many times".

Mr Trump has been trying to drum up support among black voters, who overwhelmingly supported Mr Obama in his 2008 and 2012 elections. This man wants to be our next president? "When will he stop this ugliness, this bigotry?" And yet, on Thursday afternoon, there Trump was, refusing to say he no longer doubted Obama's validity for the office. He said Latinos need to "decide who the real America is" and push back against the notion that the nation "only includes a few of us".
