Numerous online claims have been unfounded, but Clinton's early departure from a September 11 memorial and video of her stumbling with help into a van prompted her campaign to reveal the diagnosis days earlier.

He then launched into a criticism of Trump's central argument - that America needs to be made great again - without ever mentioning the Republican candidate by name. He noted after Sunday's incident that he'd be "lucky to hold [his wife] back another day" after she cancelled a campaign trip meant to see her in California this week.

"Well, if it is (more serious) then it's a mystery to me and all of her doctors", said Bill Clinton. The former president said he did not believe that was the case.

Emails released in Freedom of Information Act requests also revealed her staff fielding requests related to foundation donors, such as job leads or meetings. Asked why it has not already, he said, "I don't know the answer to that".

President Barack Obama won here in 2012 over Republican Mitt Romney by almost 7 percentage points, a margin that has many analysts puzzling over why polls suggest the race is much closer this time.

But 16 percent of Hispanics remained undecided in the Clinton-Trump race, according to the poll for Univision News by Bendixen & Amandi and the Tarrance Group.

Turnout remains a critical question, however, and it is unclear whether this year's election will energize Hispanic Americans here and elsewhere to vote at higher rates than in previous years, when fewer than half cast ballots.

The interview also touched on Hillary Clinton's recent health scare, with Bill Clinton saying, "She just got dehydrated yesterday". The state's unemployment rate remains among the highest in the nation, as does its share of homes with mortgages that are significantly underwater.

Oddly, unlike the "CBS Evening News" version, Clinton's use of "frequently" can be heard on a version played on "CBS This Morning".
