Sony Reportedly Offered Daniel Craig $150 Million To Play Bond Again

However, there are a few issues with this news that make us think it might not be the most reliable piece of information.

Sources tell Radar Online that Sony bosses are desperate to keep Daniel in the picture for a further two films, in order to "phase in a younger long-term successor".

The only problem is that Sony's deal to distribute James Bond movies ended past year with Spectre, and Eon Productions - the entity that has controlled the 007 franchise from the very beginning - has been actively looking for a new studio home. Point being, it's a wash in terms of Craig's value to the franchise compared to the excitement of a newer/cheaper actor.

Hes essentially made himself into the man too cool to play Bond.

He famously said he'd rather slit his wrists than play James Bond again, but it appears the franchise isn't done with Daniel Craig just yet.

It's good to be Daniel Craig.

But according to a source reported by Radar, the most likely candidate to star as James Bond is Daniel Craig.

Craig is certainly playing hard to get, with some reports suggesting the actor has already turned down the massive sum.

The James Bond franchise has seen its greatest success with Daniel Craig in the leading role.

In the meantime, theres been a steady string of rumours about who could replace Craig as Bond, with a new hopeful claimed as the frontrunner nearly every other week (were getting pretty fed up of writing the weekly news articles, truth to be told). Furthermore, Tom Hiddleston appears to be the running favorite to step into the tuxedo should Craig confirm his departure.

Bell - who rose to fame in Billy Elliot - had his odds slashed from 33/1 to 8/1.
