Woe is Alabama: Top-ranked Tide unhappy with performance

Alabama travels to Ole Miss this Saturday.

Alabama players are bypassing the grudge match talk, and mostly downplaying the added motivation of the latest rematch Saturday.

Kelly still has the talent to make the big plays, and he went off against the Crimson Tide in 2015 with 341 passing yards and four total touchdowns, but he will have an up-and-down game thanks to Alabama being more prepared for him. "With how locked in we are, how confident we feel. We'll learn a lot from it and move forward". We know it's coming. "We're serious in our preparation, but we like to have fun".

The Rebels lost a starting cornerback and key running back reserve in Week 1.

The Ole Miss Rebels and the Alabama Crimson Tide face off on Saturday in a college football battle of SEC titans. Senior receivers Nicholas Norris (seven receptions, 147 yards, two touchdowns) and Taywan Taylor (five catches, 165 yards) both had huge openers while senior running back Anthony Wales rushed for two scores.

Additionally, Saban expressed his disappointment with his team's performance, telling reporters after the game that even though the Crimson Tide won, he felt disappointed. "We've been reading the Energy Bus book by Jon Gordon".

"That's really the key, having that mindset that you can accomplish anything, that you can go in any atmosphere and win regardless of the situation", the quarterback said.

Gordon's book goes through the "10 rules to fuel your life, work and team with positive energy".

Ole Miss has played two games and is progressing through the third week of the regular season, but Rebels coach Hugh Freeze said it's still a little too early to pinpoint the team's identity.

The major stat that will come into play for this one is the fact that Alabama is only allowing 8.0 points per game while Ole Miss is giving up 29 points per game.

- Saban said there are things Jalen Hurts can do "better", but that there were things he did "very well". "I think as a defense and offense, against the number one team in the nation, we did pretty well". McElroy threw for 148 yards and 2 touchdowns while completing 58 percent (15-of-26) of his passes.

Ohio State 48, Tulsa 3 - The No. 4 Buckeyes overcame a sluggish offensive start, a lightning delay, and a driving rainstorm in the second half to beat the visiting Golden Hurricane.

The lack of second-quarter opportunities, as well as the three negative first-half plays, resulted in Alabama entering halftime with just 13 rushing yards. "That's not the kind of football we want to play here". "Out shooting them six to one, we give a goal and it's one to nothing".

"We knew we had to take some shots up the field and in one-on-one match-ups, but unfortunately we didn't win", Brohm said.
