Bethesda Announces There Will Be No Mods For Fallout 4 On PS4

However with the PS4 and Xbox One, mod support has made its way to consoles.

Bethesda restated the importance of mod support for Fallout and Skyrim mods on PlayStation 4, and how much time it has put into the project. This would be a very rare case for console games, but Bethesda has always been known for its support of user mods in its games, allowing players to create and share new content, environment rules, and ways of play that can significantly add to the life of a game.

We reached out to Sony and Bethesda for clarification on what, precisely, was the logjam.

- PS4 Mod Storage limit is approximately 900 MB at present. It is speculated that this will also be the case for PS4 players and there will be a special UI in the game that will allow PS4 users to connect to the mod database.

The Xbox One has been enjoying mods in Fallout 4 for a while now, bringing on the of PC platforms advantages to consoles. Surprisingly or not, Sony seems to have even more restrictions than Microsoft, and as such, Bethesda decided that they can not offer proper mod support under these circumstances. Fallout 4 mods came out on Xbox One and were a success.

Modding has been a staple for video games since almost their inception and one of the biggest companies that have supported mods is Bethesda Studios.

Fans will most likely be disappointed with the lack of mod support for "Fallout 4" and "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition". At the time, he explained the feature was still deep in the evaluation process.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, a remaster Bethesda announced during its own dedicated E3 conference in June, is scheduled to launch on October 28 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
