Factions conditionally accept Syria ceasefire set to begin Monday

The agreement envisages joint US-Russian military strikes against militant groups in Syria, including Daesh.

In February, the U.S. and Russian Federation brokered a ceasefire that held for some time in most parts of Syria.

"If the ceasefire is successfully implemented nationwide, then this is a real, new chance for the humanitarian access so urgently required for hundreds of thousands of people in need", Steinmeier said.

Al-Assad's government has endorsed the plan, while the opposition has voiced doubts on whether the new ceasefire will hold.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said at least 13 children and an equal number of women died in the Idlib attack, but did not confirm how many civilians perished.

Around 100 people were killed in air strikes in rebel held areas of Idlib and Aleppo on Saturday (10 September), hours after the USA and Russian Federation announced a 10-day truce - beginning on 12 September - to ease the suffering of civilians.

To get aid into the battered second city of Aleppo, where rebel-held areas are under siege by regime forces, a demilitarised zone is to be established around the Castello Road into the city.

It is not clear how these governments intend to distinguish between Jabhat Fatah al-Sham and other allied rebel factions or how they will be able to attack the al-Qaeda linked militants without hitting other rebels as well.

Idlib is mostly controlled by rebels including the Jabhat Fatah al-Sham, a former al-Qaeda affiliate previously known as al- Nusra Front. "We will do our part", she said.
