Wiesberger takes 1-stroke lead after 2nd round of KLM Open

Scott Hend picked up four shots in his last five holes to finish at 14 under and take a one-shot lead into the final round of the KLM Open on Saturday.

Home hero Joost Luiten fired a brilliant course-record equalling 63 to make history and win his second KLM Open at The Dutch.

The 30-year-old made seven birdies in total as he matched his first-round 66, leaving him 10-under overall and well positioned for a tilt at a fourth European Tour victory this weekend.

Hend entered the final round of last week's Omega European Masters with a one-shot lead but lost in a play-off to Alex Noren and will hope to go one better as he searches for a second win of the season.

This was his first win for nearly two years and reward for a brilliantly consistent 2016 so far that saw him come into the week with eight top tens, including two runner-up finishes, and represent the Netherlands at the Olympic men's golf competition in Rio.

The Aussie blotted his card with bogeys at the second and uncharacteristically at the par-five 15th hole to go along with his four birdies as he struggled for control of the tee all day. People talk about the zone, and I think I was in it today.

A bogey-free 65 saw Byeong Hun An end the week in third spot, one stroke ahead of Hend, Alejandro Canizares and English pair Ben Evans and David Horsey. "I missed one shot when I went in the water on 13 but besides that I didn't do much wrong", he said.

Chris Hanson was in the group at 11 under, a shot clear of fellow Englishmen Tommy Fleetwood and Simon Khan, and Scotland's Scott Jamieson.
