Officer-involved shooting reported at Foxwoods Resort Casino

Foxwoods Resort Casino is on lockdown while CT State police investigate an officer involved in a shooting. The reason for warrant still unknown on Tuesday night.

Connecticut State Police Public Information Officer Kelly Grant issued a brief update just after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Connecticut State Police Major Crimes Unit is still investigating.

No other details about the shooting or injuries were immediately available. The Mashantucket Pequot (PEE'-kwaht) Tribal police confronted the patron in the parking garage, where police say the patron produced a weapon, and shots were fired. At least one person on Twitter who said they were on scene said police were blocking exits and were not letting people near the doors. She didn't know why.

The suspect of a shooting at Foxwoods Casino on Tuesday had an outstanding arrest warrant, Connecticut State Police told the Hartford Courant.

No patrons at the casino were allowed outside following the shooting and lockdown, witnesses told Fox61. "The restaurant, they closed off all the entrances to the outlets, the casino stayed open", Cummins said. The safety and well-being of our guests and employees remains Foxwoods' top priority, and there is no current threat to anyone on the premises.
