Don't consider myself a star, says Radhika Apte

Casting couch has been an integral part of film industry and lately many stars have opened up about their horrific experiences.

"I don't take breaks".

The actress said: "I think Leena is a remarkable woman. I don't fit into the typical Bollywood formula films". "I was also sure that I was really in good hands", she added. Even when I worked in Shabd and Teen Patti I was working with actors. "I was trying to find my audience and I think I've found them with "Parched"," she said.

The film revolves around four women living an unwanted life in a village of north-western region of India, which still suffers from old, age-ridiculed traditions like forced child marriages and other social issues like financial difficulties, spousal and familial rape, and physically and emotionally abusive alcoholic husbands. Radhika Apte also says that she wasn't disheartened when the leaked nude scenes from her upcoming film Parched went viral. It premiered at the Special Presentations section of the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival.

"I don't think "Parched" is for a niche audience at all. I have seen people performing nude on stage in India and overseas,".

'Parched' helmed by Ajay Devgn is all set to hit the screens on September 23, 2016. "These things don't bother me at all", she said.

"This is the only profession that I know".

It is not easy for one to become heroine and sustain for long time in male dominating film industry. Last year, a clip from Anurag Kashyap's 20-minute short film made its way to the internet too. "That's not who I am". I didn't try to understand it. "Now director Leena Yadav is ready with Parched ".

"We have had a very insane and handsome journey".
