Rob Gronkowski officially inactive for Patriots Week 2

Giant monster Rob Gronkowski remains out with a hamstring injury.

The passer was set to play the first four games of the Pats' season as a replacement for the suspended Tom Brady.

The Patriots tight end still isn't at full strength after suffering a hamstring injury on August 15.

Miami lost its season opener against the Seattle Seahawks by as 12-10 final score in a game which came down to the final drive. He'll work out pregame to be sure, and is getting closer to playing.

Check out The Palm Beach Post's Miami Dolphins page on Facebook. Garoppolo goes for win number two of the young season when the Patriots lock horns with the Miami Dolphins in this NFL Week 2 divisional matchup.

Garoppolo was immediately taken to the Patriots locker room as New England led 21-0.

This is the second straight week Gronkowski has missed after injuring the hamstring August 15 in a joint practice with the Chicago Bears. Linebacker Dont'a Hightower, who's developed into one of the leaders on defense, is doubtful with a knee injury.

That had to give the Patriots pause if ever there was an instinct to rush Gronkowski back.

They need to hit Tannehill, disrupt his timing and keep him from allowing his receivers the time to stretch the field and shake coverage. He is a crucial part of their roster.

That's not to say that the Dolphins are pushovers, especially not with the Patriots still missing Brady and, likely, Gronkowski. There are big tight ends, but none quite as towering, and powerful as Gronkowski. "You don't want to think about it too much because you'll get stuck in the past, and that's not a good thing in this league".
