Johnson polishes off a dominant victory

On Sunday, Dustin Johnson used his prodigious length as well as a red-hot putting stroke to climb to victory at the BMW Championship, moving into the pole position in the FedEx Cup as the PGA Tour heads to East Lake for the season-ending Tour Championship.

While competing at the men's Olympic golf tournament, in which he finished tied for 37th, Fowler chose to add the Wyndham Championship to his schedule in an effort to make the U.S. Ryder Cup team on points.

"I just didn't have quite enough for him", Casey said.

This performance will heighten the controversy about Paul Casey's decision not to make himself available for the Ryder Cup. Known for many years as the guy who couldn't catch a break in the biggest events, he won for the third time in eight starts dating to his first major at the U.S. Open.

He had a tap-in birdie at the par-five 15th and then made it a hat-trick at the 16th, before capping off his day with a 15-foot birdie at the last.
