New Hampshire man arrested for role in Cliven Bundy standoff

Delemus, who is a co-chairman of New Hampshire Veterans for Donald Trump, traveled to Nevada in 2014 and more recently to OR to support the Bundy family in their two standoffs against the federal government.

Authorities now say 19 people from eight states have been indicted and arrested in a 2014 armed standoff over grazing cows on USA land near renegade cattleman Cliven Bundy's ranch in Nevada.

"This investigation began the day after the assault against federal law enforcement officers and continues to this day", Daniel Bogden, U.S. Attorney for Nevada, said in a written statement issued by his office. According to the indictment, Bundy ignored four court orders to remove his cattle.

Bundy's ranch in Bunkerville, Nevada, was the site of the standoff.

A prominent conservative activist from the Seacoast is under arrest and facing federal charges.

A reporter asked about criticism he'd received from Republican leaders in Congress, including House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.). First up though, another round of voting this weekend, with Democratic contests on Saturday in Kansas, Louisiana and Nebraska.

The case is strongly connected to the January takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge outside of Burns, Oregon that has seen 25 people charged.

The Aug. 12 armed confrontation involved snipers allegedly taking elevated positions against federal agents, and ended with the government being forced to retreat.

Federal prosecutors said Thursday that Bundy, two of his adult sons and five other men were already in federal custody following the end of a almost six-week armed occupation of a wildlife refuge in Oregon.

David Bundy was arrested by the FBI in Utah Thursday morning, and he is scheduled to appear in a federal court in Salt Lake City Friday at 2 p.m.

The dispute between Cliven Bundy and the US government dates back to 1993, when the rancher stopped paying monthly fees the BLM charges ranchers to allow their cattle to roam federal range lands.

From April 12 to at least the end of May 2014, DeLemus and others set up the checkpoints and patrols to "prevent and deter law enforcement actions against the conspirators, including recovering the extorted cattle", according to the indictment. O'Shaughnessy, 43, of Cottonwood, Arizona; and Micah L. McGuire, 31, and Jason D. Woods, 30, both of Chandler, Arizona.

The superseding indictment charges that Cliven Bundy was the leader, organizer and chief beneficiary of the conspiracy, and possessed ultimate authority over the conspiratorial operations and received the economic benefits of the extortion.
