Final Irish election results leave nation in political limbo

Speaking on RTÉ's "Prime Time" in a clear bid to woo Fianna Fáil, Mr Coveney said Fine Gael would "certainly be willing to talk about water".

At the meeting, Mr Kenny expressed regret that the Labour Party's numbers have reduced so significantly forcing them to rule themselves out of participating in government.

But he said: "We are determined to play our part in providing the Irish people with a government committed to working on their behalf".
