Trump Refuses to Say If He'll Accept Election Results

Oct 21, 2016, 00:29

One more time on Obamacare: Trump repeated his claims that insurance premiums under the Affordable Care Act will go up 60, 70, and 80 percent.

"Such a nasty woman", Trump interjected as Hillary answered a question about funding Social Security.

I need add nothing to that, except to point out that Trump's lowest moment was the whine of a loser girding for a smackdown. Clinton also spoke forcefully for gun-control measures and the right of women to take decisions on abortion, and against the deportation of undocumented immigrants. I imagine he lifted these lines from Mike Pence.

The conversation that has so far taken place in the run-up to this year's US presidential election, highlighted by the third and final presidential debate Wednesday, has been a nightmare for Japan.

If there is one constant about these debates, it's Clinton's reluctance to directly address legitimate complaints about the trade deal her husband signed in the 1990s. The one-time litigator prosecuted the case against Trump, sparking another temperamental spiral, as effectively as Chris Christie once broke down Marco Rubio.

But, also like Coughlin, Trump has shown no talent for building a grassroots political operation.

At the end of the night, Trump referred to Clinton as a "nasty woman" and denied again that he had engaged in any sexually aggressive behaviour, blaming Clinton's campaign for the series of women who have charged him with groping and other forms of harassment and assault in recent days.

"I will look at it at the time", said a defiant Mr Trump after he was asked if he would concede to his Democratic rival if the pollsters prove correct and Mrs Clinton becomes America's first ever woman Commander-in-Chief.

And it bears repeating: Trump knows nothing. So have members of Trump's inner circle and family.

The rise of ISIS: Trump has said in several debates that Clinton and Obama are responsible for the collapse of Iraq and the rise of ISIS, in part because they withdrew US troops from Iraq and left a power vacuum.

On foreign policy, Clinton reasserted her opposition to sending a large-scale USA troop presence to the Middle East to defeat the Islamic State. And the Democrats, the Clintons especially, are very complicit in this, as well.

In what may be the fastest case of reappropriation in this election cycle, women have already taken back one of the insults Republican nominee Donald Trump lobbed at Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton during Wednesday night's debate.

"Every time Donald thinks things are not going in his direction, he claims whatever it is, is rigged against him...."

That was glossed over, as were other issues related to race and racism, gay rights, and student loan debt (which matters far more than national debt and convos centered around entitlements).

Lemire reported from NY.

Somehow, this was still the most substantive debate.

"Both of the candidates pulled out, what they call their "trump cards, ' if you want to call it that, Trump attacking Hillary for corruption, for being cozy with Wall Street; and Hillary playing both a "China card" and a 'Russia card" against Trump".

Trump faced more scrutiny from the press, with an average of about 13 claims checked across 10 publications and watchdog groups, almost twice as many as Clinton.

If, instead, Trump continues promoting conspiracy theories and urging supporters to be untrained vigilantes who don't understand the rules that govern polling places, the logical conclusion is that his campaign is more interested in suppressing the vote and causing problems on Election Day than taking simple steps to put in place back-up measures to prevent them.

In defense of the old man feeding the squirrels, at least he comes ready for what he plans to do at the park. I'm glad this was the final debate, because none of us deserve to watch mediocrity get this far. The businessman has argued without providing any evidence that the election is rigged against him and has suggested Clinton would be an illegitimate president because she used a private email server as secretary of state. "People are fed up with false promises from politicians".

Trump is silly. Trump is hateful.
