French, German ministers in Ukraine to revive peace deal

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said that the conflicting sides have already agreed on a week-long truce starting on Thursday, which could lay the ground for implementing the other provisions of the Minsk agreement, Xinhua news agency reported.

Officials in Kyiv say Russian Federation has militarily backed separatists. Russian Federation denies any direct role in the conflict which has brought Kremlin relations with the West to the lowest level since the Cold War.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Pavel Klimkin, said his that his nation would file a substantial lawsuit at the International Court of Arbitration concerning the alleged violation, by Russian Federation, of the Convention on the Law of the Sea. "If this visit contributes to Ukraine's implementation of commitments, then it can only be welcomed", Peskov told journalists on Thursday.

The separatist leader said the rebels are "fully committed to the Minsk agreements" and see them as "the only solution". One more person was reported missing and 15 injured.

Ukraine's defense forces near the rebel-held east of the country have accused Russian-backed fighters of opening fire 50 times on Wednesday, including the use of artillery fire. The ceasefire agreement was reached between Ukraine's conflicting sides during a Contact Group meeting in August.

In its latest report on Tuesday, the OSCE special monitoring mission recorded 275 explosions in the Donetsk region, compared with 57 the previous day.

Steinmeier delivered new equipment to the OSCE observers, including 1,200 pairs of gloves, binoculars, Global Positioning System trackers and clothing.

The fund's decision paved the way for a $1 billion loan guarantee from the United States and a 600 million euro loan from the European Union, Poroshenko said. Ukrainian military spokesman Oleksander Motuzyanik said three servicemen had been wounded and that rebels violated the cease-fire six times.
