Down Syndrome student wins game with last minute three-pointer

According to WTVF, Robert Lewis, who has Down syndrome, has served as team manager at Franklin Road Academy for the school's football, basketball, and soccer teams for the past four years.

Robert is also a member of FRA's Heart to Heart program that encourages students with Down syndrome to integrate into the classrooms and other school activities, WTVF noted.

Senior Robert Lewis has only played one basketball game in a Franklin Road Academy jersey, yet he will finish this season as the Panthers' most accurate 3-point shooter.

"They call me Money because I make three-pointers", Robert said.

On the team's Senior Night on February 5, Lewis was in uniform, playing against his brother, Matthew, who plays for the University School of Nashville.

"I just loved that moment when everybody was so happy for me", Lewis told WTVF.

After missing his first three-point attempt, Lewis set up in the corner and waited for the pass.

While it was Robert who hit the shot, the night was special for the entire Lewis family, including the player guarding Robert, his younger brother and a junior at USN, Matthew.

His parents were moved by the emotional moment.

"I just loved it", Lewis said. "When I had that ball, when I shot it, I know that was going in, and when I made the shot, all I can hear is everybody going nuts".

The video of Lewis scoring the three-pointer has been viewed more than a million times since it was posted online. "I was really proud of our guys for getting the ball to him and letting him get a couple shots, and the way it all happened - I would have never imagined that it would happen like that".
