Extreme weather: Wind chill warning for Tompkins begins Saturday morning

"Wind chills will slowly ease by late Sunday morning".

For Sunday morning, record daily lows will be possible from central New Jersey to Boston. Wind gusts of up to 30 miles per hour are expected. It will be exacerbated by extremely cold wind chills, creating a threat to people, pets and property, emergency officials said. If you get under one of these bands, a coating is possible, but it will be wind-whipped.

Up to 37 inches of snow fell in Mexico, New York, in the last two days. Wind chill values during this time could reach life threatening levels due to the combination of very cold temperatures and strong northwest winds creating wind chill values as low as 25 to 30 below zero.
