Zika Has Brazil's President, Central Banker Hunting Mosquitoes

Brazil's president said the Zika virus outbreak will not compromise the upcoming Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

President Dilma Rousseff and government ministers plan to join 220,000 Brazilian soldiers who will visit homes on Saturday to educate the population about the mosquito.

"So Zika represents an emergency for public health and it demands different actions that are already being taken", explained Alexandre Chieppe, Under Secretary of Health for Rio de Janeiro State.

Brazil's military and hundreds of thousands of health workers have been mobilized to fight Zika.

The unidentified Maryland patient recently traveled to Central America where the virus is prevalent, along with parts of South America.

Being infected with Zika virus can lead to a fever, a rash, joint pain and other mild symptoms. Of the confirmed cases, 41 have been connected to Zika.

There is no known treatment or vaccine for Zika yet, but according to health officials, victims could manage the symptoms with rest, plenty of fluids, and acetaminophen.
