Arsenal Star Agrees Huge New Contract & Steals Wilshere's No.10

Talks and discussions are ongoing and the club are hopeful that Ozil - who is happy at Arsenal and with life in London - will commit himself within the next few weeks.

Mesut Ozil has yet to agree a new contract with Arsenal despite reports from Germany claiming he is set to put pen to paper on a new deal.

The second condition is that Arsenal strengthen their squad enough to challenge for the Premier League and Champions League.

Ozil has scored two goals for Arsenal this season but is yet to register an assist. Er fordert u.a. die Rückennummer 10 statt 11.

Arsenal and Ozil have been locked in talks to renew the German's contract at the Emirates Stadium throughout the year, with the club keen to improve their star player's deal.

As part of the agreement, which has been reported by Bild, it is claimed that Ozil will take the No.10 shirt. Not much details have been revealed by Bild regarding the contract, but the publication has pointed that the contract is a "lucrative" long-term deal which might refer to a hefty pay rise for the player.

The Germany worldwide wants to wear the number ten shirt, the squad number assigned to Jack Wilshere who joined Bournemouth on loan this summer, as he is a big fan former Gunner Dennis Bergkamp, who wore the number during his time at Arsenal.

Along with the above revelation, one can only speculate what the new wage is going to be for Ozil with the playmaker now on a £140,000 per-week contract at the club.

Arsenal fans should be delighted that Ozil looks set to stay, but wouldn't they rather he had his mind on helping the team win more games rather than what the mostly meaningless number on his shirt says?
