Freezer bearing mom's body sold at yard sale: Arrest made

North Carolina police have arrested a woman after her mother's body was found inside a freezer sold at a yard sale. Lee said the church would come and collect the items inside, but they never showed.

Three weeks later the buyer opened the fridge and found the body of Ms Lee's mother, Arma Roush.

Lee, 56, was arrested in Carolina Beach on a charge of failure to report a death.

Police said that the neighbour was also told that the contents of the freezer, which was taped shut, would be collected by Ms Lee's friends.

GOLDSBORO WOMAN FINDS HUMAN REMAINS INSIDE FREEZERRoush was last seen alive in August 2015 at her Holly Street home where she lived with her daughter, according to police. An autopsy found no signs of foul play in Roush's death.

Told the neighbor via WRAL: 'She sold me her frozen mother for $30. In May, the buyer opened it and called 911. My neighbor sold me a deep freezer.

"The church never came, I made a decision to open it". I ran out of the house and called 911'. She'll face her first court appearance on Monday.

Lee is charged with concealing/failure to report a death and was booked in the New Hanover County Jail under a $50,000 bond.
