Donald Trump Airs Medical History On TV

Today at 1pm EST, the "Dr. Oz Show" will broadcast an episode filmed yesterday with guest Donald Trump releasing his medical records.

Donald Trump released additional details on his health Thursday morning, putting out a one-page statement from his physician revealing that he is overweight for his height, but has unalarming cholesterol levels.

The TV appearance and the letter did little to clarify what had trickled out Wednesday from audience members present at the show's taping.

Trump compared his health to that of the New England Patriots' star quarterback.

But, for the most part, Trump appears to be in good health for a man of his age. "It would be good", Trump said.

And that fact has been picked up on, with one Atlantic article claiming the hallmarks of Mr Trump's trademark language can be read in the letter. And despite the fact that Trump would be the oldest person ever elected president, the Republican nominee assured the world famous heart surgeon that he is as sprightly as ever.

He told a large rally in Canton, Ohio: "I don't know folks". Trump said that both he and his family have been relatively healthy. Oz mentioned Lipitor, but Trump said he would not specify brand names. Lab results in the letter show normal levels of cholesterol and blood sugar. Trump said his dad's heart "wouldn't stop".

Dr Harold Bernstein said the 70 year old Republican presidential nominee weighs 16.9 stones (107.32kg) - which is overweight, and almost obese, for his 6ft3ins height, according to official BMI tables in America.

Hours earlier, his campaign released the letter from Bronstein to media outlets.

Oz ran through the letter during the interview and did not say much of note about the results from the physical.

When asked why he didn't release his records sooner, Trump replied, "I didn't think it was necessary". It's tough because of the way I live. "It's a pretty healthy act".

"I guess that's a form of exercise", he told Dr. Mehmet Oz.

Stating that he gets most of his exercise from golf, which he plays with the 39-year-old National Football League star. He then worked in a dig at President Barack Obama.
