Match in a Minute: Hull 1-4 Arsenal

55' - GOAL! Hull City 0-2 Arsenal: Theo Walcott finishes off Iwobi's delightful backheeled flick.

Hull remain in takeover negotiations, with the club's prospective new owners said to be keen to appoint Mike Phelan as manager on a permanent basis.

Theo Walcott returned - after missing the game through a knee injury - in place of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. "I think the best of us is still to come", Walcott insisted. The handball was never in doubt, with Livermore sticking out his left hand to stop a goalbound shot from Francis Coquelin, but Jakupovic, behind the Hull midfielder, might have stopped the goal, leading to questions being raised on the red card decision.

"There is no added problem but we are cautious with him".

He was handed his Premier League debut for the Gunners during the 4-3 opening weekend defeat by Liverpool at The Emirates after injuries to both Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista.

Walcott, who scored his side's second goal of the match 10 minutes after half-time, was delighted with how he and his teammates played.

The 23-year-old has started Arsenal's last two games on the bench with Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin playing in central midfield, but Wenger has indicated the Switzerland global could play farther forward.

Arsenal: Cech 6; Bellerin 7, Mustafi 6, Koscielny 6, Monreal 6; Coquelin 7, Cazorla 6; Walcott 7, Ozil 6, Iwobi 8; Sanchez 7. In the last 20 minutes we didn't have enough objective to score.

"I'm very happy for him", said the Frenchman.

The game should have been out of sight by halftime, but Arsenal's profligacy and some wonderful saves from Eldin Jakupovic kept it within touching distance for Hull.

It nearly got worse a minute later when Robertson's back-pass only found Sanchez inside the box, although to Robertson's credit he recovered ground quickly to make an important challenge to deny the Arsenal man.

"But we had a very hard game against Southampton last week, went away to Paris St Germain". And in true Arsenal style, the fact they didn't kill the game off quickly enough meant Hull were right back in it, even for just a few minutes. However, Hull City will be full of confidence going into this clash given their recent string of results and will be able to thrive as the underdogs.

The victory is Arsenal's seventh in eight games against the Tigers, and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will have been pleased to see his side dominate and pick up their third Premier League win on the bounce.
