Gal Gadot Comments on Wonder Woman's Sexuality & The Vision For The Character

Gadot, who is playing the Amazonian superhero, was doing the rounds for new comedy "Keeping Up With The Joneses" when the subject came up.

More recently, however, Wonder Woman made headlines for being confirmed as bisexual by long-time writer Greg Rucka. With that news in mind, we wondered whether her sexuality would be represented on screen in next June's highly anticipated solo adventure Wonder Woman?

Gadot also spoke about Wonder Woman's story in the film, something many have said was too complicated for non-comic-reading viewers. The Wonder Woman actress explained how her film fits into the DC cinematic universe compared to Justice League, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, which all seemingly have much darker themes.

Gal Gadot: It's not something we've explored. "In this movie she does not experience any bisexual relationships", she said. But it's not about that. She's a woman who loves people for who they are. "She loves people for their hearts", said Gadot. "We cared a lot about simplifying Wonder Woman's agenda, because it is simple".

Matt Santori-Griffith: I'm going to start off simple and to the point.

In spite of her reluctance to return to the Wonder Woman story herself, Carter maintains that the character is vitally important to giving young girls relatable role models. So, tell me what queer is.

I think it's more complicated though. On this film, we went back to Diana's backstory-to her history, her coming of age. Look. It's the Amazons. He continued that it "makes no logical sense otherwise". "It's supposed to be paradise". And the only options are women. "The concept doesn't exist".

So, essentially, even though Diana Prince doesn't have a romantic relationship with a woman in the upcoming film, she is someone who loves people for their heart and thus it's completely possible for her to be bisexual. Indeed, next summer Warner Bros. will bring us the first female-led superhero film of the post-Iron Man era, and judging by the film's incredible first trailer and its promising World War I setting, audiences are in for quite a treat. And it needs to be yes for a number of reasons.

Instead, Diana will explore her feelings for Chris Pine's hunky soldier, Steve Trevor.

"Patty had a true vision that the character meant something to her". It would hurt the character and take away her heroism.
