Kanye West's 'Life of Pablo' has been pirated half a million times

After many fans downloaded TIDAL just to purchase Kanye West's The Life of Pablo, the rapper pulled the album from the store for further "tinkering".

Kanye West's new album The Life Of Pablo has already been illegally downloaded over half a million times, according to Torrent Freak.

While many highly anticipated albums typically get pirated in large numbers shortly after their release, TorrentFreak says that they haven't seen this level of piracy for a single album before.

By comparison, the top-selling album on the Billboard charts the previous week - Rihanna's "Anti" - rang up legitimate first-week sales of 124,000 units. And it will never be for sale... That's a lot of intentionally limited exposure, although one can only presume this is a bid to promote Jay Z's streaming platform, Tidal (or which Kanye is a shareholder).

Over the weekend, West tweeted that he "decided not to sell my album for another week" and to please subscribe to Tidal.

On Sunday, West went on a huge Twitter rant asking Mark Zuckerberg to "invest 1 billion dollars into Kanye West ideas" to help with his $53 million of debt.

He then tries to calm Marge by saying, "I know things look bad now, but just try to visualize another America". In the midst of presidential primaries, The Simpsons are trying to make it through the political chaos.

"Even diehard fans are saying his new album sucks b***s, but as for Mr. West suing TPB, good luck Kanye!”

So, despite the album's exclusive commitment to TIDAL, it seems non-users are finding (illegal) ways to get their hands on The Life of Pablo. Along with his music, he is a co-owner of streaming service Tidal, and has his own line of Adidas Yeezy clothing, which he previewed at said show last week.
