Last Friday, a denied-sony-music-release.html">New York City Supreme Court judge ruled against Kesha's request to be released from her recording contract with Dr Luke's Kermosabe label (under Sony Music). Singer Taylor Swift has donated $250,000 to Kesha to help her financial needs, while Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande are among hundreds who have posted messages on Instagram and Twitter to the fast-growing #FreeKesha campaign.

The case prompted Demi Lovato to share a photo from "The Enliven Project" that shows how often rapists aren't reported, partly due to fear of harassment.

"I am beyond words in gratitude. thank you is not enough but it is all I have. a million times over and forever thank you. the support I have received has left my face swollen from tears. Would love to but I didn't grow up with money and def haven't made as much as her. At least I speak up about s-- that's uncomfortable to talk about rather than trying to be politically correct 24/7".

Kesha added that a larger statement is forthcoming. "And no, none of this was in her contract". In the lawsuit, the singer accused Dr. Luke of "sexually, physically, verbally, and emotionally [abusing her] to the point where [she] nearly lost her life" over the course of 10 years, according to Rolling Stone. Lepera said Kesha, who burst on the music scene in 2009, was "already "free" to record and release music without working with Dr Luke as a producer if she doesn't want to".

He also drew attention to an unrelated court case in 2011, when Kesha denied that he'd drugged her, and said she hadn't had an "intimate relationship" with him.

While it would seem to most that Lovato was annoyed with Swift's actions, she denied they were in a feud. "I didn't rape Kesha and I have never had sex with her. Kesha and I were friends for many years and she was like my little sister".
