Vick not in a rush to find a new home
When the Eagles signed quarterback Michael Vick last off-season, they did so knowing full well that he wouldn’t be around much longer than one season with the team.
But in spite of his time in Philadelphia getting closer to ending, Vick isn’t all that concerned about where he’ll play next season, preferring instead to take a wait and see approach while his current club makes a push for the playoffs this year, according to Sean Leahy of the USA Today.
“I can’t look that far down the road right now. I just got to focus on this team winning a Super Bowl and that’s the most important thing. I think the future is going to take care of itself. I just have to continue to work as hard as I can and continue to help this team win in whatever way I can.”

This comes prior to Vick’s somewhat triumphant return to the city and team that traded multiple picks and players to San Diego for the right to select him #1 overall in the 2001 draft, the Atlanta Falcons, since his incarceration on multiple charges of animal cruelty. Vick was released by the Falcons in the middle of his stay in Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary, and while many of his former teammates and coaches have gone out of their way to support his return to the league, Vick may still face some harassment when he lines up with the Eagles in Atlanta on Sunday.
Philadelphia does own an option to keep Vick for one more season, but depending on how constrained they are under the salary cap, they may choose to let Vick explore other opportunities next spring. Given his repentant attitude and willingness to line up anywhere Eagles head coach Andy Reid asks him to, Vick should have more than a few suitors for his services if he does in fact hit the open market.
Seattle, Oakland, Denver, New England, and Washington are all teams that would be likely to have an interest in Vick.
