Notre Dame receiver Golden Tate followed the lead of his quarterback, Jimmy Clausen, all season long in South Bend. Now he’s set to do the same in the off-season, saying goodbye to his collegiate career and hello to his future in the NFL.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Tate will declare for the NFL Draft today, joining Clausen in a highly touted 2010 draft class, and ensuring himself of a healthy bank account next fall. Tate is currently projected as a late first to early second round pick, although that status could very well change depending on how well he performs at the scouting combine and in his workout next spring.
