Quick Hits – Finley, Edwards, Berger

Here’s a rundown of the latest news to hit the wire this afternoon…

  • Tom Pelissero of the Green Bay Post-Gazette is reporting via Twitter that Packers TE Jermichael Finley is unlikely to play next week at home against the Vikings, thanks in part to a sprained knee that he suffered yesterday afternoon.
  • According to the Kansas City Star, Chiefs WR Lance Long emerged as a deep threat for the team yesterday, and could see more throws coming his way when the team comes back from their BYE week.
  • Scout.com’s Adam Caplan is reporting via Twitter that Redskins DT Albert Haynesworth will suit up for tonight’s game against the Eagles, and should play throughout, barring a re-aggrevation of his ankle injury.
  • Bills QB Trent Edwards has been cleared by the team’s doctors to begin playing again, but given how well QB Ryan Fitzpatrick played in his absence, Buffalo may decide to keep Edwards on the bench for the time being.
  • The Denver Post is reporting that the Broncos have waived P Brett Kern in favor of signing P Mitch Berger off the street.
