8:25 pm: Bulger’s status has been updated, and it doesn’t look good for the Rams. According to the Associated Press, Bulger has fractured his left leg and will miss three to six weeks during his recovery. The Rams have no intention of placing the veteran QB on injured reserve at this point, but given the lack of depth they have at several key spots, it may become a more pressing option as the season progresses.

8:15 am: Mired deep in the midst of yet another throwaway season, things went from bad to worse yesterday for St. Louis, as QB Marc Bulger and OT Jason Smith both suffered injuries that could prevent them from playing next week.

According to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Bulger injured his hamstring and is likely to undergo an MRI to further evaluate his condition. Brown, on the other hand, was hit hard enough to push him out of the game with concussion-like symptoms, and may have to have tests at some point this week to determine his ability to play.

On the flip side of that negative news was the accomplishments of RB Steven Jackson, who broke the 1,000 yard mark in rushing yards for the fifth season in a row, which is a new record for the Rams. While Jackson should rightfully celebrate the milestone, it’s likely that he won’t remember yesterday’s contest fondly, as St. Louis lost the game 21-13.
