Mon 1:55 pm – Browns head coach Eric Mangini has confirmed Rogers will be out the rest of the season on the team’s Twitter feed. He’ll have surgery and go on the injured reserve list later on this week.

Sun 9:30 pm – Just when the Browns thought their season couldn’t get any worse, they received word that the injury suffered by DT Shaun Rogers today against the Bengals is bad enough to keep him out for the remainder of the season (H/T to PFT).

According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, the exact nature of Rogers’ injury is not known as of yet, but his ankle or Achilles tendon are suspected to be the issue. Cabot cited a league source in claiming Rogers will be lost for the last five weeks of the year, but the team has not yet released any information regarding the injury.

Rogers was seen hobbling through the Browns locker room after the game on crutches and was visibly shaken by his injury.
