Fallen tree derails train in California; at least 14 injured

At least 14 passengers were injured aboard a commuter train that derailed Monday evening in a rural, unincorporated part of Alameda County in California, according to emergency personnel, reports CBS San Francisco.

A large tree caused the Altamont Corridor Express 10 collision at 5500 Niles Canyon Road at about 7:45 p.m., authorities said.

The train was said to have had 200 plus passengers aboard during the derailment. The second auto also derailed but remained upright, he said.
