Williams: Bills ’stupidity’ to blame for poor season
There is a refreshing bluntness that often comes out of NFL locker rooms, where players feel very few qualms about saying what they think, even if it causes issues with their teammates and coaches.
Buffalo defensive tackle Kyle Williams took that to another level yesterday, laying the responsibility for the Bills mediocre record at the feet of the entire team and not on the horrible decisions made by former head coach Dick Jauron.
“It’s a bad time to have lost a lot of games in the fourth quarter because the division’s right there. I think above all else, that’s what really kind of sticks in your craw. To know that everything was so close, and the way things are shaking out in the division that, other than our own stupidity, we could’ve been there.”

Williams is understandably frustrated with his team’s performance this season, and while there are plenty of reasons behind the Bills poor play, you have to give him credit for not passing the blame off on to someone or something else.
Buffalo will certainly be looking at their roster this off-season with a fine tooth comb, and while the play of Williams and others on the Bills defense hasn’t been all that good, the display of leadership shown here will be a big plus for several players, especially if they’re looking to receive a bigger contract any time soon.
