The kick was a chip shot, a 23 yard point blank shot that basically amounted to an extra point in terms of its distance and degree of difficulty. But when you miss those kinds of kicks, you’re usually not long for the NFL and that’s the hard lesson that Washington kicker Shaun Suisham is learning the hard way today.

The Redskins are currently slated to work out four different kickers tomorrow, with Nick Novak (Cowboys), Shane Andrus (Buccaneers), Graham Gano (Ravens), and Mike Nugent (Jets) all coming in to compete for Suisham’s job. None of the more inspire much confidence given the exits they each had with their previous employers, but depending on how things go, Washington may have its newest member by late afternoon.
