Cromartie off the hook; no charges pending

After a night of revelry in a Pacific Beach bar brought the possibility of criminal charges to his doorstep, Chargers CB Antonio Cromartie reason to feel a bit uneasy.

All of that is gone though as of today, when San Diego police chose not to press charges against Cromartie for an alleged incident involving a man being hit in the head by an empty champagne bottle. If evidence of wrongdoing in the case had existed, Cromartie would have likely faced a charge of assault with a deadly weapon, which carries with it a stiff punishment if convicted.

The police officers involved in the case found no link between Cromartie’s group and the individual injured at the bar that night, leading them to drop the issue before it even started.
