According to Pro Football Talk on NBC Sports, Pittsburgh brought in free agent DL Orpheus Roye last week in an attempt to find an adequate replacement for DL Aaron Smith, who was lost for the season with a shoulder injury.

Roye won’t give the Steelers anything they don’t already have with Travis Kirschke and Ziggy Hood, but having quality depth along their D-line is important enough to bring in an older veteran like Roye, who knows the defense in Pittsburgh in and out.
