Quick Hits – Jets, Crabtree, Polamalu

Here’s the latest news from around the league this afternoon…

  • Despite a tough loss last week, ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting (via Twitter) that the Jets locker room is still loose and exuberant, greeting newly acquired WR Braylon Edwards with a LeBron James poster and a pair of boxing gloves.
  • ESPN is reporting that an unnamed committed within the US Congress will be conducting an investigation into the judicial decisions that allowed Vikings DTs Kevin and Pat Williams to escape the four game suspensions handed down by the league late last season.
  • San Francisco WR Michael Crabtree is still several weeks away from his NFL debut, but according to the Press-Democrat’s Matt Maiocco (via Twitter), he’s working hard with the 49ers scout team, preparing their defense for Atlanta’s receivers.
  • According ESPN’s John Clayton, Steelers safety Troy Polamalu has practiced two straight days this week and will likely be a gametime decision on Sunday against Detroit. Polamalu is recuperating from a tear of his medial collateral ligament in his left knee.
