Redskins say no to Vick; Jaguars, Vikings still possible

The Associated Press is reporting that Washington head coach Jim Zorn has ruled out a potential deal with former Falcons QB Michael Vick, at least for the time being.

The Redskins have been extremely open in their pursuit of an upgrade at the quarterback position this off-season, but an addition of Vick would not make a lot of sense for the team given his current status with the league and a lack of physical activity over the past two years during his stint in prison.

Look for Washington to revisit a move to add Vick into the fold at a later point, especially if Vick gains a full reinstatement from the commissioner and is able to show that he can still play at a high level.

In a separate article, Mark Miller of Yahoo! Sports discussed potential landing spots for Vick earlier today, and believes that Minnesota and Jacksonville are the two most likely suitors given their need for talent at the position, especially now that the Vikings and Brett Favre have ended their saga.

That being said, Vick’s situation still needs to be fully resolved before any team takes the plunge and actually signs him to a contract offer. As always, we’ll keep you in the loop as news breaks on this and everything else around the league.

I don’t think the vikings will show any interest in vick. Vick was a great athlete but never a great qb. Jackson and rosenfels give the vikings a better chance to win. Also the vikings will not sign him for his rare athletic ability because the vikings already drafted that kind of player in Percy Harvin.

alright J, you’re an idiot. Michael vick was the best football quarterback out there, if he had better wide receivers. When he was in trouble he got out of that as quick as possible, You just dont see the good in some athletes.

BEST FOOTBALL QUARTERBACK??? Sounds like you’re the one who’s an idiot, DOM! Have you ever heard of Tom Brady and Peyton Manning? He’s a freakin runningback masquerading as a QB!
