Quick Hits – Cowboys, Sanchez, Steelers
It’s Sunday morning and I can’t sleep any longer. Usually it’s the other way around for me, but no matter… I’ll get a head start on the day instead by hitting up all the news that broke yesterday. Grab yourself a cup of joe and enjoy the links…
- A tornado-like storm drilled the Cowboys practice facility yesterday, leaving 12 people seriously injured, including several coaches. Special teams coach Joe DeCamillis suffered the worst, breaking his back in three places, but he should make a full recovery.
- Broncos RB Knowshon Moreno will wear the #27 jersey previously owned by the late Darrent Williams, who was tragically gunned down on New Year’s Eve in 2007.
- The Jets are in no hurry to start Mark Sanchez at QB, according to offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer.
- Graham Harrell downplayed the controversy started by his former head coach Mike Leach last week, choosing to focus on his performance during the rookie mini-camp in Cleveland.
- The Steelers are on a mission to stay away from having another poor season after winning the Super Bowl.
