Raiders looking to move Burgess?

Tim Kawakami (San Joes Mercury News) has one of the more intriguing rumors of the night, with a possible trade of Derrick Burgess from the Raiders sometime this weekend. Apparently, Chris Mortensen (ESPN.com) first broke the story and while Mort is not always reliable as a source, you can’t discount anything at this point.

If such a deal were to go down, two teams that would be interested immediately jump to mind: the Patriots and the Eagles. Both teams would like to add a proven veteran at the position, and Burgess would definitely be the best available player in that regard if he ended up on the block. That being said, Raiders owner Al Davis is about as miserly as anyone can be this time of year with information, so don’t be surprised if nothing comes to fruition on this one.
