According to the New York Daily News, the Giants are currently positioning themselves to possibly make a move towards an earlier pick in the first round, most likely to obtain Mayland WR Darrius Heyward-Bey.

New York has been toying around with a possible trade to get Cleveland WR Braylon Edwards for some time now, but with both sides unwilling to budge from their demands, the Giants seem to have moved on to a different approach. Drafting a receiver in round one does have its risks, but in the eyes of the Giants front office right now, it’a move that will cost less long term and still fill a need on the team.

Either way, the Giants seem to have a plan in mind headed into the draft this weekend, and we can expect more than a few interesting moves to be made before it’s all said and done. New York currently has 10 picks in this draft and should be set to move up or down as they see fit.
