Here’s the latest news from around the league this morning. Enjoy!

  • Arizona returned a favor yesterday by signing Curtis Modkins (former Chiefs RBs coach) to be their RBs coach, after Maurice Carthon left that same position in AZ to become the assistant head coach in Kansas City.
  • Bills RB Marshawn Lynch has escaped the potential felony gun charges he was facing in California after his arrest earlier this week, and will now deal with three misdemeanors instead.
  • Apparently $10 million isn’t what it used to be, at least not for Texans CB Dunta Robinson, who complained vociferously yesterday upon learning that Houston had decided to use their franchise tag on him instead of letting him walk in free agency.
  • Colts CB Marlin Jackson picked up a nice present in court yesterday, bagging a $225,000 judgment against the University of Michigan student who sued him for $10 million after a criminal complaint against Jackson was thrown out. Jackson convinced the jury that his draft stock had taken a serious hit because of the initial suit, and was awarded the cash as a result.
  • Yesterday proved to be pretty costly for Steelers WR Santonio Holmes, after the league decided to fine him $10,000 for his prolonged celebration near the end of the Super Bowl.
