Montgomery County reports first case of Zika virus

Geneva: The sexual transmission of the Zika virus is more common than previously thought, the World Health Organisation has said, citing reports from several countries.

The San Luis Obispo County Public Health Department continues to closely monitor the rapidly evolving Zika virus situation and recommends residents be aware of risks associated with travel to areas with Zika virus transmission and what precautions they should take.

While doctors say there may eventually be some cases locally where people are infected directly by mosquitoes, most of the cases we see in the Bay Area will be people who have been infected overseas, or through sexual contact with someone infected overseas.
