Clinton takes Mississippi, Sanders wins MI

Rules requiring a candidate to reach a threshold to get a share of the delegates on offer in the three primary states on Tuesday could see him fall further behind Cruz, who has already suggested his fellow senator should get out of the race.
The survey also found Cruz nipping at Trump's heels nationally, as far as the GOP nomination is concerned, at 27 percent to Trump's 30 percent. In light of the results on Super Tuesday and last weekend (with a few notable exceptions), he clearly has the strongest argument that he is best positioned to be the last not-Trump candidate standing at this stage.
That state has 36 Democratic delegates up for grabs and 40 on the Republican side.
Marco Rubio got 9% support, a bruising finish for the Florida senator's campaign.
Bernie Sanders' stunning upset in the delegate-rich MI primary last night put a speedbump in what was thought to be Hillary Clinton's clear road to the Democratic nomination.

Trump entered Tuesday's contests facing a barrage of criticism from rival candidates and outside groups who fear he would deeply damage Republicans' chances of winning in November. That's simply not going to happen unless Trump is abducted by aliens and Cruz decides to move back to Alberta. Tonight, he notched another of those big wins in MS, where he had 47 percent of the vote (with 91 percent of precincts reporting).
The next big day for the field of Republicans is next Tuesday, March 15. Marco Rubio was desperate for some evidence to counter an impression that his campaign is fading.
The state looms as particularly important for Trump following anecdotal evidence that fierce attacks on his character and qualifications by other candidates and the Republican establishment may be beginning to have an impact.
In Ohio, Clinton had 59% support from women, the poll found. Sanders led among self-described "very liberal" voters 58-39%, but Clinton led among "somewhat liberal" voters 58-37%, and among "moderate" and "conservative" voters 56-38%.
Sanders' narrow win over Clinton is the biggest story of the night.
Rubio, addressing supporters Tuesday night, touted his credentials as a general election candidate, saying he can unite the party and defeat the Democrats in the fall, things he said Trump cannot do because too many Republicans find him to be an unacceptable nominee.
Prayers, cheers as total eclipse darkens swath of Asia
The previous total solar eclipse was in March a year ago and was best viewed on Norway's Svalbard islands near the North Pole. The next total solar eclipse is on August 21, 2017 and will be visible from a narrow corridor across the United States.
On the Ides of March, Trump is battling with Rubio to win Florida and Kasich to win Ohio.
Almost six in 10 Michigan Democrats said Clinton is honest, while about eight in 10 said the same of Sanders. Capping a strong evening with early-morning results (noted by John in his live-blog post), the Republican caucus in Hawaii gave the GOP's frontrunner a little more breathing room in the delegate race. Cruz has 315 delegates, followed by Rubio who has 151 delegates.
But Clinton breezed to an easy victory in MS and she now has more than half the delegates needed to clinch the Democratic nomination at the party's national convention in July.
The GOP front-runner also picked up a prominent endorsement ahead of Tuesday's primary: former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani.
Ted Cruz, a us senator from Texas whose recent victories have positioned him as the prime alternative to the brash billionaire, won the party's primary in Idaho.
"It's not just the whole country that's watching MI - now the world's beginning to watch", Kasich said Monday during a campaign stop in the state. Even if Rubio loses Florida and drops out, Kasich is poised to win OH, which will prompt him to stay in the race until the convention.
