The release of the Ringing Bells Freedom 251 means exciting things for India, and if it goes well possibly the hacker community, too.

In a development that could increase Internet usage in India, Noida, UP-based smartphone maker Ringing Bells on Monday launched the world's most affordable smartphone - Freedom 251 - priced Rs 251 or $4.

The company has said that it is halting the booking as of now and will soon resume services.

As far as the software of Freedom 251 is concerned, it runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop.

In terms of specification the phone certainly features all the entry level specification, such as 4 inch IPS display whose resolution are not yet completely specified.

The primary rear camera of Freedom 251 is a 3.2-megapixel shooter wit auto-focus and LED flash, while the front-facing camera is a 0.3-megapixel snapper. Freedom 251 has a 1450mAh battery.
