The Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 9 Recap

Earlier this week, AMC posted a new trailer video revealing the first four minutes of the new episode, and needless to say the trailer got all TWD fans hyped up for this weekend's mid-season premiere episode. But there is hope. Purists may care more than I do.

The upcoming episode is titled "The Next World" and is slated on February 21 at 9 P.M. on AMC.

While you may be reeling over the biggest shockers of the night, you probably didn't realize that the mid-season premiere was the first time the makeup and visual effects crew tried out a new technique to show off some zombie gore.

Yes, Jessie also gets her hand chopped off by Rick in the comics. Rick hesitates but agrees that it's best for the baby. His mother, Jessie, (Alexandra Breckenridge) was shocked with what she saw, but similar to Sam, the undead heard her cry and attacked her. We witnessed the demise of Jessie, Sam and Ron. The conflagration draws in several walkers, and kudos to everyone involved for the sequence. On set, the mold was used for Andrew Lincoln to slice through to portray the scene where he frees his son from a dying Jessie's grip.
