Not having their starting quarterback on the field for the majority of the season thus far has definitely hurt the Lions, as they’ve struggled out of the gate to an 0-3 record.
If things go to plan this week though, Detroit could see Matt Stafford back in the huddle sooner rather than later, as he is scheduled to begin throwing in an effort to better evaluate where he is the process of recovering from the shoulder injury he suffered in week one.
Stafford separated his shoulder early in the Lions contest against the Bears, and quickly left the field to be replaced by journeyman Shaun Hill, who has played well but has been unable to rally the team to win in the two games since.
Playing in 10 games last season, Stafford completed 212 passes for 2,350 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions.
