Former Seattle Seahawks Head Coach Jim Mora Coaching High School Football

After getting fired as a result of a lackluster 5-11 campaign with the Seattle Seahawks in 2009, Jim Mora has apparently found another coaching gig.

It’s just down a few notches.

According to the Seattle Times, Jim Mora has accepted an undetermined role to be an assistant with the Bellevue High School football team, along with Chris Beake, another former NFL coach who has accepted the position of defensive coordinator.

This has to be a slap of reality for Mr. Mora, not only did no one in the NFL want him in an assistant role, but no one at the college levels even wanted him in any capacity.

I can’t say I feel too bad for him, he got paid $12 million to get fired after this season, I think many Americans would get fired for that in a heartbeat.

At the same time though, he is not going to coach at some obscure random High School, he is at least going to be coaching at a powerhouse program that is commonly nationally ranked and has won six state titles in the past eight seasons.

it's not necessarily a step down. another way to look at this is that the guy secured his financial future and now is getting to coach and teach at a level where those practices are actually more valuable. could be a very happy story for him.
