Citing multiple sources, Chris Mortensen of ESPN.com is reporting that the Giants have reached an agreement with QB Eli Manning on a major contract extension, worth an estimated $97 million over six years.

This contract places the junior Manning among the highest paid players in the entire league, as he will now make approximately $15.3 million a season, $1 million or so higher than his brother Peyton, who currently is paid an estimated $14.17 million in Indianapolis.

A separate source close to the discussions has indicated that Manning is guaranteed $35 million of the contract, although that figure has not been confirmed as of yet. The two sides are currently reviewing the exact details of the contract and should finalize it with the league in the near future.
