Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports is reporting that sources close to the organization believe that Cardinals QB Matt Leinart is in real danger of losing his role as backup quarterback to Brian St. Pierre.

Leinart is a former first round pick and decorated collegiate quarterback out of USC, however he has repeatedly struggled in displaying the ability to be an effective starter at this level. He lost his starting role last summer to Kurt Warner, who led the Cardinals to their first Super Bowl appearance.
